Minister Stefanović Sent a Message to Osmani: There is no border with Kosovo
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović sent a message to President of the Provisional Self-Government Institutions in Priština Vjosa Osmani, reacting to her statement that “if the Serbian Armed Forces tried to cross the border with Kosovo, they would face the US Forces as well as the armed forces of other NATO member states” as TANJUG reported. The minister stated that there is no such thing as the border with Kosovo.
“There is only the Administrative line with our southern province, which is a huge difference” the Minister Stefanović underlined and he availed himself of that opportunity to thank her for her interest in the Serbian Armed Forces”.
“It is easy to understand that the interest grows since the Serbian Armed Forces grow stronger each day and they will continue to do so. That is precisely why I am certain that representatives of the Provisional Self-Government Institutions in Priština will respect the UNSC Resolution 1244. Furthermore, I am 100 percent certain that they know why they must not and cannot enter the north of Kosovo and Metohija by force” Minister Stefanović said, adding that it was also clear why they were constantly nervous.
In relation to Osmani’s assessments of the international exercises in which the Serbian Armed Forces take part, Minister Stefanović emphasised that “Serbia desires the EU membership, which is our strategic goal, but Serbia is at the same time a militarily neutral country which is why it has an opportunity and privilege to organise exercises with both the USA and Russia, and some other countries as well, whenever it is in the interest of our country”.
Earlier today, Osmani stated that if the Serbian Armed Forces had tried to cross the “border” with Kosovo, they would have faced the troops from the USA and other NATO member states.
She said that to journalists answering the question if she was afraid of a conflict due to the equipment of the Serbian Armed Forces, Gazette Express communicated.
