Ministry of Defence Provides Scholarships for High School Students – Apply!
The Ministry of Defence has opened a competition for 24 scholarships for students in 2021/2022 academic year. Students of the third and fourth grade of vocational high schools in technical, agriculture and food and medical fields are being offered the scholarships in the amount of 20,000 and 25,000 thousand dinars and guaranteed employment upon the completion of the education.
Following the completion of education, the high-schoolers will, depending on their education profile and service requirements, stated in the Competition text, start their employment as civilians, or military civil servants, while some will be offered an opportunity to gain the status of non-commissioned officers after the completion of basic military training.
The opportunity to become a beneficiary of the military scholarship will be offered to future motor vehicle engineering technicians, construction technicians, electrical power technicians for networks and plants or energy technicians, electrical power technicians and mechatronics technicians for missile systems.
The scholarships are also offered to medical profiles such as dental technicians, dental nurses or technicians and pharmacy technicians.
The defence system also requires good quality shoe makers, locksmiths-welders, decorators of wall surfaces or basic construction works operators, masons-plasterers, carpenters or furniture production operators, locksmiths and locksmiths-welders. The scholarship and guaranteed employment could also be awarded to future butchers and pastry chefs.
Having in mind that the competition for the scholarships has been opened in accordance with previously defined requirements, the interested young men and young women will know the location of their employment once they have obtained their diplomas.
Apart from Belgrade and Novi Sad, the locations of employment include Niš, Sremska Mitrovica, Bačka Topola, Zuce, Jakovo and Nikinci – which is stated in the Competition together with the education profile.
The beneficiaries of the scholarships of the Ministry of Defence will be obliged to spend on their jobs at least double the time during which they received the scholarship, and they will be offered an opportunity to develop their careers according to their wishes, talents and capabilities.
Students entitled to the scholarship are the students of high schools founded by the Republic of Serbia, autonomous province or self-government unit, and who have been enrolled on certain grade for the first time in this academic year, and who are citizens of the Republic of Serbia and who continuously achieve the academic average grade of at least four (very good) and excellent behaviour grade. A parent or legal guardian of a student also has to have a residence in the territory of our country. Apart from that, the students have to be mentally and physically healthy, without any criminal proceedings initiated against them, and they cannot have previous convictions.
