River Flotilla’s drills on Tisza River near Titel
As part of the joint tactical live-fire exercise "Lightning Strike 2021", members of the River Flotilla are carrying out drills and exercises on the Tisza River near Titel in cooperation with the Air Force and Air Defence.
During the exercise, river units are playing out tactical actions and procedures for preventing enemy river forces from entering their units’ dispositions by defending the waterway.By skilful manoeuvring of vessels in cooperation with fighter-bomber aviation, the river units perform tactical actions including blockading and controlling the waterway, landing and setting up a pontoon ferry, providing protection to River Flotilla ships, and numerous other scenarios which members of river units can face while carrying out operations.
About 300 members of the Army and Air Force and Air Defence, 12 ships, four aircraft, three amphibious transporters and more than 25 other vessels are engaged at the training ground near Titel.Drills carried out at the "Titel" temporary range are part of a joint tactical live-fire exercise "Lightning Strike 2021", which is being conducted at eight locations across Serbia by units of the Army in cooperation with the Air Force and Air Defence, 72nd Special Operations Brigade and 63rd Parachute Brigade.
