Multinational exercise “Platinum Wolf 21“
As part of the multinational exercise "Platinum Wolf 21", which is being conducted from 3 to 18 June at the "South" base and at the "Borovac" range, members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the armed forces of nine other countries are undergoing intensive training.
Mixed teams practise tactics, techniques and procedures with non-lethal weapons that are used in multinational operations. Fighting in urban environment, defending the base, setting up a blockade and conducting search of the terrain, operating the checkpoint, carrying out motorized and infantry patrols and providing first aid are some of the activities included in the training program. A virtual battlefield simulator is also used in the training.
The aim of the exercise is to improve the interoperability and mutual understanding between the partner countries’ armed forces at the tactical level while conducting a multinational peace support operation.
The "Platinum Wolf" exercise has been conducted in Serbia since 2014. In addition to making direct preparations for participation in multinational operations, the idea of the exercise is to provide incentive to the development of the "South" base as a regional training centre. This year, members of the armed forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Romania, the United States, Slovenia, Great Britain, France and Serbia are participating in the exercise.
