Head of European Union Delegation to Serbia Sem Fabrizi visits Defence University
Ambassador Sem Fabrizi, Head of the European Union Delegation to Serbia, visited the Defence University today.
At the beginning of the visit, the Rector of the Defence University, Lieutenant General Goran Radovanović, Assoc. Prof, and his associates presented to Ambassador Fabrizi this military educational institution’s mission, tasks and capacities. General Radovanović noted that the Defence University had been established by the decision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia in 2011, and added that it was an independent higher education institution that offered Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD academic programmes in several scientific fields as well as special training programmes.
During a tour of accommodation facilities and lecture rooms in the Military Academy’s renovated building, the Rector presented to Ambassador Fabrizi IT equipment and teaching aids used in classes, emphasizing the importance of the distance learning platform for all students during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Head of the European Union Delegation to Serbia also visited the Sports Centre and the reconstructed and modernized pistol shooting range at the Military Academy.
Towards the end of the visit, Ambassador Fabrizi gave a lecture on Serbia's relations with the European Union and the negotiation process to the participants in the Advanced Security and Defence Studies, the highest level of training for officers and civil servants.
