Minister Stefanović attends night firing at "Nikinci" range

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, attended the demonstration of weapons and military equipment that are being developed, as well as night live firing at the Nikinci Centre for Weapons and Military Equipment Testing. The Minister announced that one of the largest exercises that had taken place in the Republic of Serbia in recent decades would be conducted in the coming weeks, on the order of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.

- Tonight in Nikinci, we had the opportunity to see the employment of our units which showed that, with the use of modern optoelectronic devices developed by domestic industry and purchased from abroad, we can achieve excellent results in restricted visibility situations - Minister Stefanović said, after the firing ended.

The Minister thanked the "Lazar", "Miloš", BOV KIV, tank and "Pasars" crews who showed that successful training, upgrading and equipment acquisition significantly contributed to our being able to act at any time of the day or night and to protect Serbia.

- We do not always have the money to buy foreign products; we invest and rely heavily on domestic institutes and factories which can compete with those from much more powerful countries. We are trying to integrate everything they develop and produce into our weapons and equipment, and in that way make our units modern, efficient and capable of performing every task - Minister Stefanović said.
