Minister Stefanović meets with representatives of European External Action Service
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, received today a delegation representing the European External Action Service (EEAS), led by Marko Makovec, the Director for Western Europe, Western Balkans, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
As a predictable and reliable partner of the European Union, Stefanović said, the Republic of Serbia attaches great importance to the implementation of the EU Common Defence and Security Policy, which is reflected in the fact that our country has participated in a total of six EU missions and operations. He also pointed out Serbia’s long-term commitment to the HELBROC Battlegroup, in which members of the Serbian Armed Forces participated for the first time in the first half of 2020.
The Minister informed the EEAS delegation about the Ministry of Defence‘s activities in the European integration process, participation of SAF members in peacekeeping operations and stated our intention to enhance cooperation with members of the European Defence Agency through membership in the Multinational Helicopter Training Centre (MHTC)in Portugal.
