Tank crews prepare for participation in International Military Games
Preparations of the Serbian tank crews are underway at the "Medja" military complex for this year's, eighth in a row, participation in tank biathlon competition at the International Military Games.
This year’s tank competition will be held from 22 August to 4 September at the Alabino military ground near Moscow. Out of the ten crews that have started preparations, three competing crews and a reserve one will be selected. In this phase of the preparations, the emphasis is on individual training, work accuracy, application of fire and adherence to safety measures.
Tank crews participating in the tank biathlon competition are expected to cross a four-kilometre-long track in the shortest possible time, overcoming all obstacles along the track and engaging targets with the tank gun and coaxial and anti-aircraft machine guns. The competition consists of three phases: individual races, semi-final relay races and final relay races.In the individual race, each of the three crews competes separately in the group it was assigned to by draw procedure. Times achieved by all three crews are added up determining the team’s ranking. The first eight teams continue to compete in the semi-finals. A penalty lap is given for each missed target, and for each incorrectly overcome obstacle, the crew is sent to a "tank inspection" site.
