President and Supreme Commander Aleksandar Vučić extends congratulations on Serbian Armed Forces Day
President of the Republic of Serbia and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić congratulated Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, Chief of the General Staff General Milan Mojsilović and all members of the Serbian Armed Forces on the Serbian Armed Forces Day. The message reads as follows:
“I congratulate all members of the Serbian Armed Forces on 23 April – the Serbian Armed Forces Day.
In memory of the Takovo Uprising, we celebrate this day as the most important military holiday – the Serbian Armed Forces Day. This day has a special importance in the Serbian history and it is a permanent source and inspiration for both Serbs and our armed forces.
Regardless of the difficult circumstances, our army has always been, is and will always be a factor of stability, preservation of peace and a powerful deterrent to anyone who dare attack Serbia.
Over the past year, amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to performing their regular tasks, your members have put in considerable effort, energy and hard work to protect the citizens in every way, in which they have largely succeeded and for which I am particularly grateful.
Strong and ready armed forces are a central pillar of a stable state and that is why the investment in the development and enhancement of your units’ operational and functional capabilities we have started this year is only the first step on that mission.
Convinced that we are on the right path and that with each coming year the Serbian Armed Forces will grow stronger and make more progress, I wish you a happy holiday.
Long live the Serbian Armed Forces! Long live Serbia!”
