Minister of Defence extends congratulations on Serbian Armed Forces Day
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, congratulated members of the Serbian Armed Forces on 23 April – the Serbian Armed Forces Day. Minister Stefanović’s message reads as follows:
“I congratulate all members of the Serbian Armed Forces on 23 April – the Serbian Armed Forces Day.
The Second Serbian Uprising erupted on Palm Sunday, 23 April 1815. Today, we celebrate more than two centuries since our ancestors showed and proved that no one and nothing can break Serbia.
Over the past year, you have shown that you follow in the footsteps of our ancestors with dignity and wear a military uniform with honour. Unconditional love for the homeland, great devotion, top training and hard work are your qualities that earn you deep admiration and respect.
You have faced the COVID 19 epidemic bravely, just as you have faced natural disasters and other unforeseen events before, and once again proved that there is no obstacle for you in your determination to help your nation. The enemy was different this time, but that did not prevent you from being, as always, in the right place at the right time, in the places where the situation was the most difficult and where you were most needed by your people.
That is why the state, headed by the President and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, will continue investing in you and your equipment, in modernizing the Serbian Armed Forces and improving the standard of living for you and your families.
With your courage and hard work, you are making Serbia a safe country. You protect it from harm and make it a stable and prosperous place for all citizens to live in.
As a proud member of a system made up of such exceptional people, I wish you a happy holiday and I hope that we will continue building a better future and an even more beautiful Serbia for our children."
