Minister Stefanović meets with Ambassador of Norway, H.E. Mr.Gjelstad



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence NebojšaStefanović, PhD, met today with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway JørnEugen ErlingGjelstad.

Minister Stefanovićstressed the importance of the long-standing close cooperation with Norway in areas of mutual interestand expressed hope that this trend would continue in the coming period.
He pointed out that Norway provided significant professional and financial support to our defence system, especially in the field of military medicine, and highlighted excellent cooperation on one of the most successful regional projects, the Balkan Medical Task Force. The minister thanked the ambassador for Norway’sdonation to help Serbia fight Covid-19.  

Ambassador Gjelstad said he was pleased with the projects and activities carried out with the Serbian Ministry of Defence. He highlighted Norway’s readiness to exchange experience in the field of compulsory military service, given that Serbia is considering its reintroduction.
