Minister Stefanović meets with Egyptian Minister of Defence Mohamed
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, met today with the Minister of Defence and Military Production of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Zaki Mohamed at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference IDEX 2021 in Abu Dhabi.
Ministers Stefanović and Mohamed welcomed the fact that two defence ministers were meeting for the first time after a long period of time, and the opportunity to consider the possibilities for further improvement and development of cooperation in the field of defence.
According to Minister Stefanović, political relations between the two countries are traditionally good and friendly, and the cooperation in the field of defence has been excellent so far. He noted the possibility of closer cooperation between the two militaries in the sphere of special forces training, military industry and military education.
The Egyptian Minister of Defence pointed out that the Republic of Serbia and the Arab Republic of Egypt were linked by historical ties and relations that were over 100 years old. He agreed that the cooperation was excellent and added that there was room for its further improvement. He emphasized that he trusted the products of the Serbian defence industry.
At the meeting they considered the possibilities of cooperation in the coming period, which would be discussed at the session of the Mixed Military Committee, which will be held in Cairo in July this year. Minister Mohamed invited Minister Stefanović to visit Egypt in the coming period.
