Military health care in the fight against Covid-19
Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, military health care has been continuously and courageously assisting the population in fighting the pandemic.
For more than 10 months, members of the military health have been at the forefront of the fight against the vicious virus and continue to justify citizens’trust in the Serbian Armed Forces and military health care.
Military Covid hospital at the “Karaburma“ Military Medical Centre, has been operating non-stop since April last year, and its bed capacity is 135. Currently, 102 patients are being treated in this hospital, and 1,633 patients have been given medical treatment there since it opened.
Currently, 265 patients are being treated at the temporary Covid hospital in the Štark Arena, whose capacity is 510 beds, and the total number of 2,433 patients have been admitted and treated there since it reopened in October 2020. During the previous waveof the epidemic, from 6 July to 3 September 2020, 434 patients were treated there.
The Novi Sad Military Hospital set aside 35 beds for the treatment of Covid-positive patients. Currently, six patients are being treated there, and from 4 November 2020 until today, 326 patients have been treated in that hospital. During the first wave of the epidemic, from July to September last year, 202 patients were admitted and treated there.
As of 5 December 2020, the Niš Military Hospital with a capacity of 50 beds joined the Covid system. Since then, 134 patients have been treated, while 35 are currently being treated there.
From 29 March to 5 June last year, 1,277 Covid-positive patients were treated in the Belgrade Fair’s Hall 1.
Military doctors and medical staff continue to make a significant contribution in the fight against Covid-19 at this difficult time, and by being dedicated and working continuously, they confirm that they are with their citizens even when it is the most difficult.
