Minister Stefanović meets with Head of EU Delegation to Serbia Fabrizi



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, met with the Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Serbia, Sem Fabrizi, today.

Stefanović noted that acquiring full EU membership status was Serbia’s strategic commitment and pointed out the Ministry of Defence’s contribution to the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) through participation in missions and operations.  
He also pointed out the importance of funds coming from the European Union as part of pre-accession assistance for candidate countries and pointed out that the Ministry of Defence would work on the development of joint projects, such as energy efficiency and environmental protection in the defence sector.

Ambassador Fabrizi confirmed Serbia’s contribution to the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy, as well as its engagement in the EU HELBROC Battlegroup.  

Ways of expanding the cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the European Union in the field of defence were also discussed in the meeting.
