President Vučić meets with Minister of Defence and Chief of General Staff’s Collegiums
President of the Republic of Serbia and Supreme Commander Aleksandar Vučić attended today the meeting between the Minister of Defence’s Collegium and the Chief of the General Staff’s extended Collegium where the equipping of the Serbian Armed Forces in 2021 was discussed.
The meeting at the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, and the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović.
- Important talks at our General Staff. Strong armed forces are a guarantor of peace, but also of the survival of our state and people – said President Vučić after today’s meeting.
The meeting discussed the results of equipping the armed forces in the past two years, activities undertaken now and current equipping processes and the Serbian Armed Forces’ needs for new materiel, whose procurement would further strengthen the Serbian Armed Forces, were expressed.
It was concluded that the procurement of modern weapons had made a significant step forward in strengthening functional and operational capabilities, and the determination to continue with accelerated equipping and modernization was emphasized.
