79th anniversary of the Battle of Kadinjača marked
A state ceremony was held today at the memorial complex “Kadinjača” near Užice to mark the 79th anniversary of the Battle of Kadinjača in which 270 fighters of the Workers’ Battalion were killed on 29 November 1941, defending the retreat of the Supreme Staff and putting up a resistance to the far superior enemy in order to slow down the offensive of the German army.
Members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, the Mayor of Užice, representatives of the Union of War Veterans of the National Liberation Wars of Serbia (SUBNOR), as well as representatives of the Association for Nurturing the Traditions of the Liberation Wars of Serbia and numerous citizens laid wreaths and paid homage to the heroes of Kadinjača at the memorial ossuary.
