Minister Stefanović meets with British Ambassador MacLeod
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, met with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Sian Christine MacLeod.
Minister Stefanović expressed gratitude for Britain’s donation to the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia in the fight against Covid-19, and for the opportunity for members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces to receive education in the United Kingdom. The Minister also stressed the importance of the preparations for joint engagement in the multinational United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus, which will contribute to improving the quality of relations between the two countries.Ambassador McLeod congratulated Minister Stefanović on his new appointment as the Minister of Defence and wished him success in his future endeavours. She emphasized Britain’s interest in improving military cooperation between the two countries through military exercises, future joint participation in multinational operations and in the field of military-medical cooperation. She also emphasized the importance of arranging a meeting for the two countries’ ministers of defence, as well as a strategic dialogue in the field of security policy and defence.
