Minister Vulin: Members of Serbian Armed Forces motivated for carrying out exercise “Joint Action 2020”
Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin and the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, visited today units of the Serbian Armed Forces in training for the live-fire joint tactical exercise “Joint Action 2020” that will be conducted on Saturday, 10 October, in a temporary exercise area “Pešter”.
Minister Vulin pointed out that all planned activities are going according to plan and everything is done the way it should be done.
- The most important thing is that all men are healthy, motivated, that they are doing their best and trying to make the live-fire tactical exercise “Joint Action 2020” impressive, great, just like our armed forces are – the Minister of Defence emphasized.
Deputy Exercise Commander of the Army component, Brigadier General Željko Kuzmanović, said that units of the Air Force And Air Defence and Army units are preparing for the upcoming exercise together and that they conducted all preliminary firing practices and preparatory activities, so they came to the temporary exercise area “Pešter” prepared.
- In the past several days, we have organized life and work on the camp site and conducted individual and joint drills with the goal of achieving the best possible results at the upcoming exercise. Members of both branches of the Serbian Armed Forces have shown exceptional motivation for carrying out this activity, and in addition to motivation, they have shown great expertise and preparedness for carrying out upcoming tasks and for handling and operating complex combat systems - said General Kuzmanović and added that members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and the 63rd Parachute Brigade, who are also in the exercise area, also "showed a high level of expertise and preparedness for performing tasks."
The exercise “Joint Action 2020” will be conducted by the units of the Air Force and Air Defence, an Army battle group and special operations units.
The general goal of the exercise is to demonstrate the level of competence of the Serbian Armed Forces’ commands and units for solving tactical and fire missions during a joint operation, with a focus on providing air fire support to Army units.
Three thousand members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, 150 combat and non-combat vehicles and combat systems, and more than 40 aircraft are engaged in the exercise.
Today’s training was attended by the Assistant Minister for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović, Army Commander, Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, Commander of the Air Force and Air Defence, Major General Duško Žarković, Deputy Army Commander, Brigadier General Vladeta Baltić, Deputy Commander of the Air Force and Air Defence, Brigadier General Željko Bilić and the Commander of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade, Brigadier General Tiosav Janković.
