Two golds for the Military Academy’s track and field team
Members of the Military Academy’s track and field sports section won gold medals in individual and team competitions in the Tribalion Green obstacle course race held on Tara.
In this prestigious competition with extremely strong contestants, cadet of the Military Academy Saša Radenković won first place and a gold medal, and thanks to the excellent results of all cadets, the Military Academy’s team won first place in the team competition and lifted the winner’s trophy.
Military Academy’s team led by Lieutenant Colonel Negovan Ivanković, PhD, consisted of cadets Saša Radenković, Filip Pavlović, Viktor Teodosić, Marko Peca, Nikola Jović, Stefan Ivanović, Nikola Urošević and Marko Marković.
Competitors encountered 12 km of mountain terrain with about 400 m cumulative elevation gain and 20 obstacles adapted to the natural environment, which required a high level of physical and mental strength of the competitors.
Tire obstacles, jumping over beams and wooden walls, swimming under water obstacles in the canyon, carrying and towing loads of up to 15 kg uphill, crossing horizontal ladders, crawling through mud, and almost vertical parts of the track are some of the obstacles that needed to be overcome on the way to the finish line.
More than 260 contestants participated in this year’s men’s race. The results of the military track and field team showed once again a high level of preparedness of the cadets of the Military Academy.
