New Issue of “ODBRANA”
IN THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE OF THE MAGAZINE ”ODBRANA” READ ABOUT:
The month behind us was marked by a range of activities and tasks whose successful realisation reconfirmed the readiness of the institution which enjoys the greatest confidence of citizens, to remain worthy of tradition it rests upon through continuation of modernisation, continued training, high quality education and processes aimed at cooperation and making contribution to international security.
President of Republic and Supreme Commander was assured that the process of modernisation, equipping and training of Serbian Armed Forces was continuous when he, accompanied by the minister of defence, attended demonstration of capabilities of part of units of the Serbian Armed Forces at airfield “Colonel - Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica on 21st August. Then he stated that “one can see what great progress the armed forces have made, and how stronger it is and how well our soldiers are equipped and trained”.
Apart from that event, in FOCUS you can read about interesting details recorded at units’ training, and about the process of modernisation and introduction of new weapons into Serbian Armed Forces, in all their parts, which, as Minister Vulin said at celebration on River Flotilla Day “all deserve equal attention and respect”.
That segment also brings an exclusive coverage of the International Military Games in the Russian Federation and Republic of Belarus, where members of the Serbian Armed Forces defend the colours of Serbian flag in three events: “Tank Biathlon”, “Military Rally” and “Sniper Frontier”.
After introductory look back on the month behind us, which was not marked by (usually) slow August rhythm because of multitude of activities, we recommend that you read DISCUSSION WITH THE REASON - with Director of Technical Overhaul Institute Kragujevac Lieutenant Colonel Rasim Ciriković, in which, with a retrospect view of seven decades long work of that renowned institution, he speaks about its current developments and plans for the future.
The column STOPPING POINT brings an interesting text about education of military pilots, who “rule the skies” unlike glider pilots, hang-gliders, parachutists and even civilian pilots, who only fly through blueness of the sky.
“Finalisation of a three-year portrait of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces” is the supertitle of a text (in the column SYSTEM) in which journalist of “Politika” Milan Galović, along with a review of the most important “breakthroughs” in terms of modernisation, training, international cooperation, and “requirements of every soldier”, analyses the current state of the system of defence. In that column, and on the occasion of marking the Artillery Day, you may find out why it is not pretentious to say that our members of artillery are better, stronger and tougher than before. You can also learn how summer training was conducted for the scouts of the Second Army Brigade on the River of Ibar, with all the “stories” recorded on the course of survival training. The SYSYEM brings a text on intensive training of a declared Military Police platoon, the goal of which is to train the unit to achieve required level of operational capabilities for the purpose of participation in multinational operations. We draw your attention to a text in that column titled “The first and last defence” in which you will find out more about the experiences of members of the Serbian Armed Forces, who, besides other health risks (chiefly malaria) fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the Central African Republic. There is also a story about how CBRN Training Centre Kruševac celebrates its Service Day, and a text on professional advancement of non-commissioned officers who represent a one of a kind “mainstay of armed forces”.
“Dissociated Allies” is the title of a text in the column GLOBAL which brings an interesting story about Czech and Slovak armed forces, while the author text written on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of victory over fascism and signed by Ambassador of PR China in Serbia Chen Bo is given in the same column and it could be considered as pure exclusivity.
Column CULTURE is where you can read about the situation on the set of the film “The Road of Life” which brings a story about the breach of Corridor, according to many, one of the most significant episodes of war events in the territory of today’s Republic of Srpska. This is where you can also read a text about the Military Museum Day, and a part of September “Odbrana” is dedicated to Spanish fever pandemic during the breach of Thessaloniki Front. The editorship of the magazine, just like it has already become a custom, has prepared a new ARSENAL to make the pleasure of September issue complete.
