Congratulatory Message of the Minister of Defence on the Occasion of Military Museum Day
I congratulate 22nd August – the Military Museum Day to all the members of that establishment.
Continuing the long-standing tradition, when Prince Milan Obrenović at proposal of then Minister of Military, signed a Decree on establishment of the Military Museum, you have managed to maintain your reputation and take one of prestigious places among cultural establishments in the country and beyond.
The Military Museum has been recognised as an important segment in the culture of remembrance of the nation. It played an important role and executed its mission, through its set ups and exhibitions, to present the role of the armed forces and their freedom-loving tradition in centuries-long struggle for freedom and independence.
Owing to your professional work and perseverance in researching and gathering museum material, the thematic exhibitions that you organise and realise in the country and abroad are the guarantor for establishment of successful cooperation and realisation of the mission of taking a place on the map of European and world treasure in the field of museology.
Proud of the fact that one such establishment of culture makes part of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, and confident that there will not be want in successes and recognitions, I congratulate this holiday to you.
