Minister Vulin: We invest in development of non-commissioned officers

Non-commissioned officers are the backbone of every armed force, and without a good non-commissioned officer there cannot be successful personnel or good training, or the power that every armed force has to have – stated Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin after today’s visit to attenders of the 15th class of Basic Course for Infantry NCOs, who are carrying out stationary camping in the First Pontoon Battalion of the River Flotilla, on the River of Sava near Šabac.
  - That is the reason why the Serbian Armed Forces invest so much in continuous training of NCOs and the opportunity to change the status of a soldier into the status of a non-commissioned officer. With that, the quality of their lives improves, because they receive greater salary, better position, but they are also charged with far more obligations so they have to work more, which is something that these mind do not find difficult. Here, they acquire knowledge that they will transfer to other soldiers tomorrow, and that knowledge is going to be rather useful in the continuation of their military career – said Minister Vulin adding that everyone can make progress in the Serbian Armed forces until they reach the most important duties and the highest ranks, because the armed forces are always there to envisage training and education. The only existing limitation in terms of promotion is somebody’s enthusiasm and desire.

Company Commander in the Army Training Centre in Požarevac, Captain First Class Goran Duvnjak states that after the end of the second module of the Basic NCO Course, current attenders will be faced with the third module as well, which is going to be realised in the Serbian Armed Forces units, where the future NCOs will be interns on squad commander duties.
  - I am highly pleased with new zeal and motivation. These are all family men and they did not have any problem in executing intensive activities and tasks that were placed before them every day – underlines Captain First Class Duvnjak and explains that at stationary camping they learn the contents within the subject of Engineer Tactics.

One of the attenders of the Basic Infantry NCO Couse is Lance Corporal Slobodan Krstić who comes from the 310th Engineer Battalion of the Third Army Brigade.
  - In the course of the training, we have, so far, carried out instruction in the subject of Engineer Tactics, where we covered instruction units dealing with overcoming water obstacles by boat by means of rowing and the use of outboat engines that are used on organic boats in the Serbian Armed Forces. We executed the training by day and night. It was very intensive, thorough, and instructors demanded maximal seriousness, attention and effort, which we demonstrated as well – states Lance Corporal Krstić adding that he is verz pleased with all the segments of training content which he underwent in previous several months.

Future NCOs of the Serbian Armed Forces who are undergoing the training were also visited by Chief of Staff of Training Command Colonel Nikola Dejanović and River Flotilla Commander Navy Captain Andrija Andrić.
