New Issue of “ODBRANA”
IN THE AUGUST ISSUE OF “ODBRANA” MAGAZINE, YOU CAN READ ABOUT THE FOLLOWING:
When the month of July, which is intended for a slower pace and rest, does not look like July, the armed forces must be better and stronger than ever. Proof that this was the case is a large number of representatives of local self-governments, institutions and individuals whom the people in uniforms and with the coat of arms of Serbia gave a hand in times of need. The summer wave of Covid, but also natural disasters, required urgent engagement of those who enjoy the greatest trust of people, so once again the armed forces have shown that they are a firm support to the people and the state.
In the FOCUS section, besides the engagement in the third mission, you can read about the intensive training and equipping of the armed forces, which showed that “being the strongest when it is most difficult” is not just a slogan but also, as Minister Vulin confirmed, “regardless of Covid, respecting all medical recommendations of doctors and the Medical Corps, the armed forces do not stop training for a single day”.
What the editorial of “Odbrana” only hints at is covered in detail by the texts in the SYSTEM section which deal with training – in the air, on water, under water and on the ground; starting from the story about “a new life of the 714th Antitank Helicopter Squadron”, to the article about River Flotilla, which is trained today to fulfil all three missions of the Serbian Armed Forces, and the photographs (accompanying the text) about the summer training of special units – pure exclusivity that will leave no one unimpressed. In this section you can read about the reasons why the Engineer Battalion of the Third Army Brigade (which has been significantly strengthened in the last few years – with equipment, technical resources, vehicles and engineer machinery) is made up of soldiers with “the gift of a creator”, but also about the completion of training for students of the 9th Class of Advanced Security and Defence Studies, the 63rd Class of officers – participants in the General Staff Course of the National Defence School and the 66th Class of officers - participants in the Command and Staff Course.
This issue contains an exclusive INTERVIEW WITH A CAUSE with Vaclav Dvoržak, the director of the film “Stolen Kosovo”. The renowned Czech author point out (among other things) that we are living in a time which has surpassed Orwell. “Peace is actually war, and a lie is the truth. When someone dares to speak the truthtoday, they are immediately banished from the society of the so-called decent people”.
In the STANDPOINT section, we recommend the story about the Veterinary Corps that will celebrate 170years of existence next year, and whose members, together with the Medical Corps, fulfil a very important function – health care function.
“Could we have predicted the pandemic” is the title of the text by Dr Elizabeta Ristanović, where you can learn unexpected information about Covid-19 and what accompanies it. Read about all this,as well as about interesting topics in the GLOBAL section, such as the article titled "Inventions of Nikola Tesla as a forerunner of modern military technologies" in the August issue of "Odbrana" magazine, in which we have prepared a new ARSENAL for you.
