Meeting of Chief of General Staff with Head of NATO Military Liaison Office
Today, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović received the newly appointed Head of NATO Military Liaison Office in Belgrade Brigadier General Tommaso Vitale.
During the meeting, they talked about the cooperation with NATO so far and opportunities for its enhancement, and about the experiences of the Serbian Armed Forces in combating the infectious disease caused by COVID-19.
General Mojsilović emphasised that the Serbian Armed Forces remained dedicated to the continuation of cooperation with NATO in the areas of mutual interest, in the framework of the Partnership for Peace Programme and through joint activities with KFOR. He reminded that in that moment the cooperation was being carried out in diminished scope because of COVID-19 pandemic and he expressed his expectation that it would be restored to its previous level once the epidemiological situation allowed it.
Speaking about the cooperation with international forces in Kosovo and Metohija, the Chief of General Staff pointed out that the cooperation with KFOR had been established on the basis of professionalism, mutual respect and confidence, and that the cooperation was vital for overall stability and security in the Province. General Mojsilović stressed this time as well that KFOR as the only legitimate armed formation in the area of Kosovo and Metohija was obliged to establish a secure and safe environment and freedom of movement for all the citizens.
