Minister Vulin: Apis and his friends dreamt of unification of all the Serbs, may their death be peaceful when their life was not
“On this date, in a staged court proceedings held in Thessaloniki in 1917, Colonel Dragutin Dimitrijević Apis, together with Major Ljubomir Vulović and Rade Malobabić was killed. Their death was not a punishment for a heroic action of Gavrilo Princip and Sarajevo Assassination which they had not organised and for which, even one hundred years later, the great powers and their guilty conscience are, in vain, trying to blame Serbia” said today Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin.
He emphasised that “the death of Apis, warrior and patriot, was a consequence of court conflicts, foreign interference and the truth that gratitude is the rarest virtue”.
- Apis and his friends dreamt of unification of all Serbs, and they never lived to see it. May at least their death be peaceful when their life was not. Their death is a warning to us that “Austrian verdicts must not be executed by Serbian rifles” never again – Minister Vulin stated.
