Minister Vulin: Borrell reminded everyone that the dismemberment of Serbia would provoke wars and this lesson should be studied by EU members that have recognized the so-called Kosovo

"Borrell is right, the borders of Serbia, exactly those recognized by Spain, Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia and Greece, as well as Resolution 1244, will not be changed," said the Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin, at the award ceremony for the most deserving individuals of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, in response to the statement of the EU’s chief of foreign policy, Josep Borrell, in which he said that "it is clear that the EU is committed to maintaining the current situation when it comes to borders, and some member states are firmly against moving in that direction" and added that "if you start changing borders in one place, others who want the same will step forward. That's why it's best to keep the status quo."

- I am glad that Commissioner Borrell once again reminded everyone that the dismemberment of Serbia would cause wars and conflicts, same as the disintegration of the SFRY did, and that it is best to keep everything within the framework of international law. I am especially grateful for his lesson that will have to be well studied by the members of the European Union who have recognized the so-called Kosovo and have thus endangered stability in the Balkans - Minister Vulin pointed out.

He emphasized that if the European Union wants to have the power to control negotiations between Belgrade and Priština, let it first prove that its word is worth something and let it finally implement the Brussels Agreement in its entirety, as concluded and as the EU guaranteed it would be implemented. Until then, their word is in the "sphere of propaganda".

- Whenever foreigners made decisions concerning the Balkan peoples, they thought about their own interests, military bases or natural resources that they wanted to use, but they never even thought about the future of the Balkan peoples. We learned that from the bloody wars we fought for them and with them. It is time for us, the people of the Balkans, to decide for ourselves how our children will live - said Minister Vulin.
