AIR SOLUTION STARTS
The first stage of forces location in the zone of operations marked the start of air force exercise conducted by the Serbian and Romanian air forces “Air Solution 2009”. This two-day exercise of air forces will be conducted in the aerial spaces of Romania and Serbia and “Batajnica” and “Campia Tursi” air fields.
The main goal is to promote the cooperation of the two countries and rising the interoperability levels of the air force components of the two armies as well as enabling the air force components for planning and conducting joint international exercises.
The air crafts participating in the exercise are two MIG 21 planes, two Supergaleb G4 and AN 2b, while the Romanian aviation is represented by four air crafts MiG 21 launcher and AN 30 planes.
During this two-day exercise, the units of bomber aviation will conduct fictional combat activities on ground targets while being monitored and protected by fighter aviation. This year’s exercise is a continuation of a very successful exercise «INTERCEPTOR 2008», which was realized last year.
The second stage envisions the rehearsing of engaging and disengaging of the aforementioned air forces and the return to home air fields. This exercise is conducted according to all NATO standards, which also means that proper military terminology in English is also used.
The commander of the exercise is Colonel Sreto Malinovic and the head of the Romanian team Lt. Col. Daniel Pakuraru both stressed that this was a very important exercise, as it involves both territories-Romanian and Serbian.
