Minister Vulin: The armed forces were not preparing for the virus, but for the country to be strong

In the continuation of the first session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia during the state of emergency, the Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin said that if the coronavirus disaster had happened before or in 2012, the Serbian Armed Forces would have acted because soldiers are the kind of people who always fulfil their tasks in the best possible way, but they would have performed their tasks in mismatched uniforms which they had then, unlike soldiers today, who have two sets of M10 uniforms, a set of M93 uniform, winter and summer boots, and members of the Military Police and Special Forces also have winter and summer overalls, winter leather boots, winter canvas boots, summer canvas boots, and military shoes.

- Salaries in the armed forces are far higher than they were in 2012. Their members have larger per diems and numerous other benefits that are larger and better. These are people who love their country because they are professionals. The state was ready this time. If this had happened in 2012 or before 2012, before Aleksandar Vučić became the Minister of Defence, the armed forces would not have had 100 percent of their troop food reserves or fuel reserves, as they do today. By providing fuel, food and salaries, we were not preparing for the virus, but for the state to be strong - said Minister Vulin.
