Minister Vulin: Serbia is not a state ruled by theocracy, nor is Montenegro a model of European values
- Serbia is not a state ruled by theocracy, nor is Montenegro a model of European values. If it was, the Serbian Orthodox Church and its faithful followers in Montenegro would not have to defend their sacred places from the state they belong to – the Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin said today in response to a statement by the Minister of Defence of Montenegro Predrag Bošković stating that the purpose of the protest against the adoption of the Freedom of Religion Law is "to turn a modern, European and democratic state into a Serbian theocratic creation, in which the church would be above the law and in the next stage, this creation would become an integral part of the great Serbia."
- In a democratic Serbia, no church should fear that its property might be seized or its name banned. It is not difficult for me to understand that a person has decided to be a Serb no longer, but it is difficult for me to understand why he or she must become an anti-Serb, Minister Vulin said.
