For the fourth consecutive year, Officers’ Ball has been organized in the ceremonial hall of the „Ribnica“ barracks in Kraljevo, organized by the Second Army Brigade.
General Željko Kuzmanović, Commander of the Second Army Brigade opened the Ball which was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Army Command, Brigadier General Željko Tramošljika, representatives of the local self-government, security sector services, public and state-owned companies from Kraljevo, members of the Serbian Armed Forces from the garrison of Kraljevo and other guests.
After the opening ceremony, dance group „Tamo daleko“ consisting of officers, NCOs and professional soldiers - members of the Second Army Brigade performed to the accompaniment of the Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence “Stanislav Binički“. With dancing and singing, they revived the spirit of the old Serbian “kolo“ dances and Serbian music performing “Knez Mihajlo’s Kolo“, “Srpkinja“, “Dorćolka“, “King’s Kolo“, etc.
Initially, the organizers of the Ball in Kraljevo were the 1st Howitzer Regiment and the 2nd Cavalry Regiment “Car Dušan“, and the last Officers’ Ball held in Kraljevo was in 1941. This nice tradition was resumed in 2017, when the first Officers’ Ball was held in this same Hall after 76 years.
