Minister Vulin: Strengthening the Serbian Armed Forces is a guarantee of peace in the Balkans
Strengthening the Serbian Armed Forces is a guarantee of security and peace in the Balkans, and the neighbouring countries should be genuinely pleased with our strengthening, because whenever Serbia was strong and Serbs protected, without attempts towards expelling them from somewhere or assimilating them, there was peace in the Balkans – Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin said today as he was a guest at the Pink TV show “Novo jutro” (New morning).
- Every strengthening of the Serbian Armed Forces is a message to both friends and foes, and let everyone decide which message they received. It just depends on them, no one else. Pantsir is a defensive weapon. It could not be a threat to anyone outside our borders, however those who cross our border cannot feel good because we have Pantsir. Pantsir is a serious anti-aircraft system – Minister Vulin said.
Minister Vulin recalls that Serbia is a militarily neutral country, whose duty to citizens of Serbia and all Serbs, regardless of where they live, is to have an army that is able to maintain its military neutrality.
- Military neutrality is not guarded by weakness, but by strength. You are not militarily neutral by saying “I surrender”, but you are militarily neutral by saying “I guard my skies and my soil and we are too expensive to allow you to talk to us by force”.The main purpose of our army is deterrent – Minister Vulin explains adding that Serbia is a country that, in the decades behind us, has shown how much it is willing to work for peace, even to its detriment, and that its president, Aleksandar Vučić, is the only independent leader in the Balkans and the only man who genuinely cares about peace.
