Minister Vulin: Belarus is an important ally of Serbia not only militarily but economically and politically as well
The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, and members of the delegation of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces, as part of an official visit to the Republic of Belarus, attended tonight’s academy on the occasion of the Day of the Protector of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces of Belarus at the Palace of the Republic in Minsk.
The ceremony was attended by Assistant President of the Republic of Belarus for Security, Victor Lukashenko, Secretary of State of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus, Lieutenant General Andrei Ravkov, Minister of Defense, Major General Viktor Khrenin and numerous guests from the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and social, economic and cultural life of that country.
Fatherland Day is dedicated to the establishment of the Red Army on 23February 1918. The holiday was first celebrated in 1922 as the Red Army and Navy Day. In honor of these holidays, a rich cultural and artistic program was dedicated to all the defenders of the homeland and the glory and victories of the Belarusian Armed Forcesthroughout its 102 years of existence.
At the end of his two-day official visit to the Republic of Belarus, Minister Vulin emphasized that Belarus is a friendly country and that it demonstratesthison every occasion.
- Not only in bilateral relations with us, but also in all international forums where Belarus firmly supports our position, always votes with us and for us, is always principled against the false state of Kosovo wherever they appear. We can truly thank President Lukashenko and the Belarussian government for their attitude and the way they treat Serbia. Belarus is an important ally, not only militarily but economically and politically as well. Cooperation between our peoples and our leadership will only continue. I am, of course, very pleased with the visit. It is lovely to be among friends – saidMinister Vulin at the end of his visit to the Republic of Belarus.
