Ceremonial Reception of Minister of Defence of Russian Federation
Today, in front of the Palace of Serbia, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vulin welcomed Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Army General Sergey Shoygu with the highest state and military honours.
The Republic of Serbia is the first country visited by Minister Shoygu after he was reappointed as the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, and today’s visit is the ninth meeting of ministers Vulin and Shoygu since Aleksandar Vulin was appointed to the duty of the minister of defence.The official welcoming ceremony, with the guard of honour of the Serbian Armed Forces Guard and national anthems played by the Ceremonial Orchestra of the Guard of the Serbian Armed Forces, was attended by delegations of the ministries of defence of Serbia and Russian Federation.
During the visit, ministers Vulin and Shoygu will have a meeting with the delegations of the ministries of defence of Serbia and Russia which is going to be followed by a visit to exhibition “Defence 78” in the Museum of the City of Belgrade, and a ceremony of conferring honourary doctorate of the University of Defence to Minister Shoygu which is to take place in the Guard Club.The ministers of defence of Serbia and Russia will together lay wreaths at the New Cemetery at Memorial to Liberators of Belgrade and Monument to Red Army Soldier, and later, they will together lay a capsule in the memorial plaque of the “Eternal Fire”.
