Delegation of the Republic of Angola at Exhibition “Defence 78”
Today, a delegation of the Republic of Angola led by President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Angola Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos visited the exhibition of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces “Defence 78”.
The tour of the exhibition in the Museum of the City of Belgrade was attended by State Secretary Aleksandar Živković and Head of Department for Tradition, Standard and Veterans Colonel Duško Šljivančanin.
The exhibition left a strong impression on the delegation of the Republic of Angola, which during the tour of the exhibition had an opportunity to observe the magnitude of suffering and devastation that people in these parts underwent during NATO aggression in 1999.
At the end of the tour, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Angola Dias dos Santos wrote the words of condolences and solidarity with the Serbian people in the memorial book.
The exhibition “Defence 78”, by the author Dušan Jovovićis, is a project initiated by the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, and the exhibition itself is a multimedia and interactive setup which displays for the first time video and printed material which have not been presented to the public until now. The exhibition is divided in eight segments and its visual artistry rests on authentic artefacts from 1998 and 1999. The exhibition in a unique way depicts the heroic defence of the country over 78 days of NATO aggression.
