Union of Veterans’ Associations of Serbia support the decision on forming the 63rd and 72nd Brigades
Defence minister Aleksandar Vulin has met today with representatives of the newly formed Union of Veterans' Associations of Serbia. Members of the Union that brings together veterans of all special units of the army and police, thanked, on behalf of their associations, Serbian president and commander-in-chief of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, and minister of defence Aleksandar Vulin, for re-establishing the 63rd Parachute Brigade and 72nd Special Operations Brigade.
Chairman of the Union and former commander of the 72nd Special Brigade Major General retired Milorad Stupar, retired MoI General Goran Radosavljević, retired MoI Colonel Aleksandar Marjanović and retired Colonel Marko Zorica of the 63rd Parachute Brigade presented their associations and activities they plan to carry out in the forthcoming period, and discussed with the minister of defence the cooperation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces with the Union.
Minister Vulin said he hoped that the Union would bring together other veterans’ associations to become one of the largest and most important organisations bringing together war veterans.
Representatives of the Union stressed that their goal was to improve the socio-economic status, treatment and humanitarian care and to assist the families of veterans and war disabled.
The Union of Veterans’ Associations of Serbia, which was established on 16th November 2019, is comprised of the following associations: ‘Friends of the 72nd Special’, ‘Veterans of the 63rd Parachute Brigade’, ‘Gendarmerie veterans and veterans of special units of the Army and Police’.
