Minister Shoygu confirms his visit to Serbia
Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin met today with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko in Belgrade.
Minister Vulin and Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko agreed that the cooperation between the two countries was enhanced thanks to the excellent personal relations of the Presidents and Supreme Commanders of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Aleksandar Vučić and Vladimir Putin, as evidenced by their last meeting in Sochi.
During today’s meeting, the visit of the Russian Defense Minister, General of the Army Sergey Shoygu to our country in 2020 was confirmed, and Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko extended an invitation to Minister Vulin to participate in the “Moscow Conference” in April next year.
Minister Vulin said that Serbia was committed to military neutrality and pursued an autonomous and independent foreign policy, while maintaining good relations with her partners in both the East and the West. He emphasized that this year was the most successful ever considering the number of activities implemented.
Minister Vulin pointed out that Serbia is trying to develop and further improve cooperation with the CSTO, as well as bilateral partnerships with its Member States.
Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko emphasized that cooperation in the field of defense of Serbia and the Russian Federation is constantly evolving and that military-technical, military-economic and military-educational cooperation represent an important segment of the bilateral cooperation.
