Joint session of the Collegium of the Minister of Defence and the enlarged Collegium of the Chief of General Staff
A joint session of the Collegium of the Minister of Defence and the enlarged Collegium of the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces has been held today on Mt. Tara. The session was chaired by defence minister Aleksandar Vulin.
Participants in the session discussed the execution of key activities of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and presented an analysis of the achieved level of development of forces and capabilities for information security and cyber defence.
At the joint session of the Collegium, it was concluded that in 2019, the Serbian Armed Forces has significantly strengthened its capacities in all segments by acquisition of new arms and military equipment, modernising the existing arms and military equipment, enhancing training and improving the material position and standard of living of its members.
It was assessed that Serbia's military neutrality enables the successful development of partnership cooperation with other armies in accordance with national and defence interests of the Republic of Serbia, which remains a firm commitment for the future as well.
The follow-up major activities will be focused on additional reforms of the Serbian Armed Forces and the development of the defence system in accordance with the orders of the President of the Republic of Serbia and the Commander-in-Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces, with the aim of further strengthening the operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces and the standard of living of its members, preserving peace and ensuring the safety of all citizens of the Republic of Serbia.
