Meeting of Ministers of Defense of Serbia and France
Minister of Defense, Aleksandar Vulin met today with Minister of the Armies of the Republic of France, Florence Parley, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of Serbia.
Following the official welcome ceremony at the Old General Staff, a meeting was held where Ministers discussed the political and security situation in the region, defense co-operation and military-economic co-operation.
According to Minister Vulin, the commitment and goodwill of both parties are needed to maintain friendly relations in the future, as well as such and similar meetings, and especially the continuity of the emerging political dialogue, are the best way to proceed. He added that we are witnessing excellent relations established by Presidents Aleksandar Vučić and Emmanuel Macron.
He also emphasized that the formation of the so-called Kosovo Armed Forces are absolutely unacceptable to Serbia and that KFOR is the only security guarantor in Kosovo and Metohija in accordance with Resolution 1244.
Ministers Vulin and Parley agreed that co-operation in defense between Serbia and France is intensive and that the focus areas are joint training and participation in multinational operations under the auspices of the European Union, with particular emphasis on the European Union mission in Mali, military education, military and economic scientific and technical cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister of the Armies of the Republic of France invited Minister Vulin to visit the Defence and Security industry trade fair “EUROSATORY” in Paris next year.
