According to Deputy Commander of the Armoured-Reconnaissance Army Battalion Major Miloš Milošević, after completion of theoretic and practical training on Pasuljanske Livade, preparatory and training firing is going to be conducted from the new assets BRDM-2MS, which are considerably advanced in comparison to the old ones.
- We are extremely satisfied with the results achieved by our members. The differences of this assets, in relation to the old ones, enables that the firing marks are one or even two grades higher, while modernisation primarily refers to new sighting and reconnaissance devices, new engines and suspension systems – Major Milošević explained.
Gunner of BRDM-2MS vehicle, Corporal Miljan Timotijević reminds that firing training for the new assets was preceded by surveillance exercise in day and night conditions.
- As for the new vehicle BRDM-2MS, the vehicle is highly reliable. It is much easier to conduct surveillance and sighting by day and night, because we have more sighting devices. It is much easier to take firing elements, or measure distance to the target, make adjustments, and precision of target acquisition is much better too – Corporal Timotijević emphasised.
Today’s firing training was attended by Chief of Staff of the Army Command Brigadier General Željko Tramošljika, Head of Intelligence and Reconnaissance Department of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Brigadier General Miroljub Čupić and Head of Planning and Development Department of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Brigadier General Milan Popović.
