Families of Warriors Fallen in NATO Aggression and Veterans from Montenegro Visited Exhibition “Defence 78”
Family members of warriors fallen in NATO aggression from the territory of Montenegro, veterans of war and members of Association of warriors of the wars in 1990 from Montenegro toured today the exhibition “Defence 78” in the Museum of the City of Belgrade and the set up “Heroes of Fatherland who Died during NATO Aggression in 1999” in the gallery area of the Military Museum in the Balkanska Street.
They were led through the exhibition by Head of Department for Tradition, Standard and Veterans Colonel Duško Šljivančanin, and the tour was also attended by Head of Department for Human Resources of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Brigadier General Savo Iriškić.
Speaking about impressions, President of Association of warriors of the wars in 1990 from Montenegro, Radan Nikolić, who led the delegation, underlined that the exhibition was impressing.
- The setup is so well documented that it brings us back in those years and it reminds us of all those victims that Serbia gave, that particularly Serbs, Montenegrins and other non-Albanians gave in Kosovo and Metohija. I see by families of the killed, that this that the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia has done, deserves every praise and I would recommend everyone who comes to Belgrade, even by chance, no matter where they come from, to come and see this exhibition in order to see what kind of crime was committed against Serbia and Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1998 and 1999 – Nikolić stressed.
The exhibition „Defence 78” left a strong impression on Milorad Zečević from Pljevlje, an officer in reserve.
- I would name this entire area “Only the truth can be spoken in the darkness” Zečević pointed out after the tour. He invited all the people with at least some little patriotism to see the exhibition with their children and grandchildren and everything that happened to our homeland.
Visit to the multimedia and interactive exhibition “Defence 78”, by author Dušan Jovović, was an opportunity to visit a setup which in a unique way depicts the heroic defence of the country in the course of 78 days of NATO aggression, and it is dedicated to the fallen members of the armed forces, police and civilians among whom there was many children.
The exhibits are original, including parts of the shot US “invisible” plane F-117A and F-16, personal belongings and photographs of soldiers and policemen who fought for freedom of the fatherland.
The tour was continued by visit to exhibition “Heroes of the Fatherland Killed in NATO Aggression in 1999” which is dedicated to the killed and missing defenders of the fatherland during armed actions in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.
