Students of the Secondary Vocational Military School won Radovan Medić Cup
The students of the Secondary Vocational Military School have won the first place in the competition in amateur radiogoniometry "Radovan Medić Cup", which was held in “13th May” residential area in Zemun, today.
The competition included 53 competitors – members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and members of amateur radio clubs.
The Electronic Warfare Centre organises this competition every year in memory of its member, Master Sergeant Radovan Medić, commander of the radio goniometry division, who was killed on assignment during the first minutes of the NATO aggression on 24th March 1999. For his courageous performance of tasks, he was posthumously decorated with the Order of Merit in the fields of defence and security of the third degree.
Amateur radiogoniometry is a combination of technique and sport in which teams on an unfamiliar terrain are supposed to find five radio stations in the shortest possible time using radiogoniometer – a device by which they determine the direction from which the radio station transmits a signal.
