Meeting of Assistant Minister for Defense Policy of Serbia and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic
Acting Assistant Minister for Defence Policy, Milan Ranković met with Czech Foreign Minister for Foreign and Security Affairs, Martin Povejšil.
The interlocutors agreed that the current cooperation between the two countries was good, that it was proceeding in the mutual interest, but that the potential for its further development was evident.
The Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic was presented with the official position of the Republic of Serbia on Kosovo and Metohija based on the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244.
Acting Assistant Minister Ranković emphasized that KFOR is the most responsible for maintaining peace and security and the sole partner of the Serbian Armed Forces in providing an administrative line with the southern Serbian province, and thanked for the participation of the members of the Czech Republic’s Armed Forces in KFOR. He also expressed his gratitude to the Czech Republic for its contribution to the NATO Trust Fund for upgrading the capacity of the Technical and Repair Institute in Kragujevac and the destruction of surplus ordnance.
Assistant Minister Povejšil emphasized that the Czech Republic is committed to developing defense co-operation with Serbia, and that maintaining peace and stability in the region is one of the key factors for its further improvement.
