South East Europe Defence Ministerial Meeting (SEDM)
Acting Assistant Minister of Defence for Defence Policy Milan Ranković MSc participated at the meeting in the framework of South East Europe Defence Ministerial (SEDM) which took place in Bucharest, Romania today.
The Republic of Serbia is oriented towards enhancement of regional cooperation in the framework of the existing fora, and finding new answers to contemporary security challenges in the region of South East Europe – said Ranković and added that the Ministry of Defence would continue its active participation in SEDM projects like IMIHO and the project dedicated to building Permanent portal of SEDM.
Joint statement of defence ministers was adopted at the meeting which provides guidance for the work in the period to come.
At the side-lines of the gathering, Assistant Minister Ranković had defence consultations with Romanian delegation led by State Secretary in Romanian Ministry of National Defence Doru-Claudian Frunzulică. Ranković expressed gratitude for the principled support of Romania in preserving sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, and for professional engagement of members of Romanian Armed Forces within KFOR in Kosovo and Metohija. The interlocutors agreed that bilateral cooperation was developed with potential for its further advancement in mutual interest.
Assistant Minister Ranković also had a meeting with Chair of SEDM Process Petro Koçi.
