Visit by representatives of the NATO Operations Division
Representatives of the Defense Policy Sector of the Strategic Planning Department of the Ministry of Defense had a meeting today in Belgrade with a delegation of the Defense Institutions and Capacity Building Directorate of the NATO Operations Division led by NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Operations, Jonathan Perish.
The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Strategic Planning Department, Colonel Slaven Vujić, who emphasized that the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces continue to pursue planned activities aimed at developing the capacity to build integrity and reduce the risk of corruption, and are committed to continuing participation in the Integrity Building Program.NATO officials were presented with an official stance by the Republic of Serbia to strongly oppose any institutionalization of cooperation between the Alliance and the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government in Pristina, including mechanisms such as the Integrity Building Program.
The Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Operations thanked the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces for their involvement in the Integrity Program activities and emphasized that today’s meeting was an opportunity to discuss current and future forms of cooperation between the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces and NATO within the framework of the said program.
