Commemoration of 28 Years since the Death of National Hero Milan Tepić
Today, at commemoration of 28th years since death of National Hero Milan Tepić, a delegation of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces laid a wreath and paid homage at the monument to the National hero Milan Tepić in a street in Belgrade which bears the same name.
The homage paying ceremony was led by State Secretary in the Ministry for Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Nenad Nerić.
The wreaths were laid by family members of National Hero Milan Tepić and associations of citizens dedicated to fostering the traditions of liberation wars of Serbia.
Milan Tepić was born in a place Komlenac near Kozarska Dubica in 1957. On this date in 1991 he died in Bedenik near Nova Rača, not wanting to surrender arms to enemy that was to be used to kill his soldiers. Major Milan Tepić blew up military storage and himself.
Presidency of SFRY posthumously decorated Major Milan Tepić on 19th November 1991 for “an extraordinary deed in fight against enemy during their attack on JNA barracks in Bjelovar” with Medal of national hero of Yugoslavia and proclaimed him national hero of Yugoslavia.
