Recognition to Minister Vulin for his Contribution to Development and Promotion of Auto Motor Sport
Today, at an event titled “Reward of Belgrade Ušće 2019 – Memorial Mirko Butulija” President of the Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia, Dejan Stojić presented Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin with a recognition for his contribution to development and promotion of auto motor sport in Serbia. The Minister of Defence opened the legendary circular auto race, on the well-known track, where the races have been being held for 50 years now. In his address he pointed out that starting from this year the even was going to be memorial in honour to tragically perished President of the Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia Mirko Butulija.
- We miss that great young man, persistent, stubborn, hard-working, courageous, and most of all a good man. We miss that strong build man from Herzegovina. We miss what he did, whatever it was, the energy and the effort that he was willing to make. I am very sad because I am standing in front of you today. I am very hurt as a human because we are dedicating the race to that man, instead of him presenting the race to us, like he always did – Minister Vulin said, adding that Mirko Butulija was worthy of being remembered and that the races which would be held in the future in his honour were the way to remember him and not forget everything that Mirko Butulija was.Minister Vulin wished a lot of luck and sporting success to all the participants of the race.
- Be fair, be athletes, be men. Be everything that makes the people who are hungry of proving themselves and hungry of struggle. When you sit in your car you go for the win and nothing below that is acceptable. Besides, such is the country in which you live, in which you were born. Serbia always goes for the win – Minister Vulin stated.
President of the Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia, Dejan Stojić underlined that the event was held owing to the Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia, Sports Car and Karting Association of Serbia, Sports Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Belgrade, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Sports Association of Serbia, “AMS Osiguranje” ltd. Belgrade, and under the patronage of the City of Belgrade.
- The very competition has always attracted great attention of both the audience and competitors. Hence, today as well, we have more than 95 competitors from Serbia and surrounding countries, who are willing to show in several minutes their best results and achieve results in their classes and divisions – Stojić said and added that he hoped that the race around Ušće would me recorded in some pages of higher international rank.
President of the Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia Dejan Stojić conferred posthumously a recognition to Mirko Butulija, which was received by Lazar Butulija, Mirko Butulija’s son, while recognition for contribution to development and promotion of Auto Motor Sports in Serbia was presented to Police Director Vladimir Rebić by Secretary General of the Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia Milan Nikolić.“Reward of Belgrade Ušće 2019” as a traditional European competition of automobile sport, is scored for the placement in the Central European Zone, and for the Championship of B&H, Northern Macedonia, together with the Championship and Cup of Serbia.
The entrance for today’s circular auto race around Ušće, which is held on the 2,310 meters long track, was free for all fans of auto sports.
