Minister Vulin: Serbia has never been on the wrong side of the world
Asked to comment on Serbia and Russia not being invited to the ceremony to commemorate the anniversary of the start of the Second World War organised in Warsaw, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin stated that it was a great insult to the victims, for 20 million killed from the area of the Soviet Union, predominantly Russians and for a million of Serbs who had been killed in that war.
- This is daily politics. This is politics in its worst form, when you are capable of changing history just because you have bad relations with someone. It is completely incomprehensible that a country that suffered so much in the Second World War, such as Poland, can despise the victims of all other nations in such a way – Minister Vulin said.
He reminded that the winner of the Second World War is known, as well as the defeated, and that all attempts at revision of history cannot be successful.
- If they will not mark the beginning of the Second World War with Serbia and Russia, they will then have to observe it with those who caused the Second World War. If they think that Poland belongs with the powers which caused the Second World War, committed the most terrible crimes in the history of the humankind, then we can only say that “They have chosen their side of the world on their own”, but Serbia has never been on the wrong side of the world. The great ones can learn something from us: Just watch where Serbia is and you will know that freedom, good and victory are on that side of the world – Minister Vulin concluded.
