Commemoration of the 90th Anniversary of the Death of Archibald Reiss
Today, a delegation of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces laid wreaths at the monument dedicated to Dr Archibald Reiss in the Topčider Park, to commemorate the 90th anniversary of his death.
The state wreath laying ceremony and paying state and military honours was led by State Secretary in the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Zoran Antić, while the wreaths were also laid by representatives of the Embassy of Swiss Confederation in Belgrade, University of Criminology and Police, City of Belgrade, and associations dedicated to cherishing traditions of liberation wars of Serbia.
The organiser of the commemoration was the Board for Cherishing the Traditions of Liberation Wars of Serbia.
Rudolph Archibald Reiss was a Swiss forensic scientist, publicist, doctor of chemistry and professor at the University in Lausanne. He distinguished himself as a criminologist working on investigation of crimes against Serbian population during the First World War.
