Russian Federation largest donor to Serbian Armed Forces
The Serbian Armed Forces received the largest donations from the Russian Federation, comprising of six MiG-29s, and a donation of 30 BRDM-2MS armored reconnaissance vehicles and 30 T-72MS tanks with supporting logistics elements is underway. In addition, significant discounts and other benefits were obtained during negotiations for the acquisition of weapons and military equipment from the Russian Federation.
The Republic of Belarus also donated 4 MiG-29 aircraft to the Serbian Armed Forces.
The difference in the amounts of donations per individual country contained in the Ministry of Defense’s “Information Guide” and the actual situation is due to the fact that the “Information” does not present those donations that are ongoing or that both parties have not agreed to make the amount of the donations public.
