Meeting of State Secretary Živković with Ambassador of Venezuela
State Secretary at the Ministry of Defense, Aleksandar Živković, met today in Belgrade with the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Republic of Serbia, Dimas Jesús Alvarenga Guerra.
As Secretary of State Živković pointed out, Serbia has extremely friendly relations with the people of Venezuela, which is supported by several meetings of the highest officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela with representatives of the Ministry of Defense and other Ministries in the Government of Serbia.
Živković told the ambassador of Venezuela that Serbia appreciates her principled policy towards the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called “Kosovo”, as well as the support that Venezuela provides to Serbia in international institutions.
Ambassador Alvarenga expressed his satisfaction with the reception at the Ministry of Defense, saying that Venezuela will continue to support the Republic of Serbia in international institutions, especially regarding the non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called “Kosovo”. He pointed out that Venezuela sees Serbia as a sincere friend, that both countries are demanding that international law be respected, adding that, regardless of the geographical distance, efforts should be made to establish mechanisms for developing cooperation in all areas of common interest.
